Alicia Keys Talks Love & Marriage w/ Swizzy

Alicia Keys is still in that “lovey-dovey” phase of marriage, as she prepares for her one year wedding anniversary with Swizz Beatz. The two were married on July 31st of last year despite all the controversy involved with their partnership. Before Alicia, Swizz was married to R&B singer Mashonda since 2004. The two had a son named Kasseem Jr. in 2006, which was Swizz’s second son. (His first son, named Prince, was born to Nicole Levy in 2000.) After Mashonda and Swizz separated in 2008, Swizz had a third child with producer Jahna Sebastian, a daughter they named Nicole. Finally in May of 2009, Swizz admitted that he had been dating Alicia Keys although he was still technically married to Mashonda. The relationship became more and more public despite Mashonda‘s emotional hurt over the affair. By May 2010 Alicia and Swizz were engaged and the singer was pregnant. Later that year they had their child blessed in a Zulu ceremony in South Africa and they wed in Corsica. Their son, Egypt, was born in October.
Alicia seems to be confident about her marriage despite Swizz‘s crazy past. When PEOPLE Magazine asked her about marriage she said…
“It’s so fly. There’s something great about feeling at peace and ease with your partner and knowing you understand each other. I really enjoy that friendship. There are so many similarities between us, it’s just mind-blowing. It’s really cool to have met my equal. When I walked down [the aisle] and saw him, I could barely hold myself together. It was so beautiful — just about he and I and our love. The wedding was one of the best days of my life.”
Awww! Good for them! :)
