Should Eminem Have Been Crowned “Hip-Hop King” Over Jay-Z or Lil Wayne?

Rolling Stone has revealed their list of top rappers in the game and has chosen the artist that they feel is the “King of Hip-Hop.” In alphabetical order, the contenders included: Big Boi, B.o.B, Diddy, Drake, Eminem, Fabolous, Lupe Fiasco, Gucci Mane, Jay-Z, Kid Cudi, Lil Wayne, Ludacris, Nicki Minaj, Pitbull, Rick Ross, Snoop Dogg, T.I., Waka Flocka Flame, Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa. The criteria for selecting the so-called “King of Hip-Hop” included a number of factors: album sales, rankings on the R&B/Hip-Hop and Rap charts, YouTube views, social media, concert grosses, industry awards, and critics’ ratings. The time period that they reviewed was from 2009 through the first seven months of 2011. Only one female was selected (Nicki Minaj) and no groups were considered. Eminem came in first (bc of his dominant album sales, YouTube views and social-media scores), Lil Wayne came in second and Drake third. Peep the list below and let me know if Eminem should NOT have been the “King of Hip-Hop,” and who should have instead?
