Jay-Z and Beyonce Named “The Iconic Pop Couple”

Guess who’s made the news headlines again today: Beyonce and Jay-Z! They both cause enough media excitememnt on their own but today they have caused a stir in the news together. Vogue Italia has named Jay-Z and Beyonce “The Iconic Pop Couple.” The publication explained:

“Beyoncé and Jay-Z  are an ‘aristocratic’ couple: no scandals, very little gossip, low-key profile (that is, as low as the profile of a man with a penchant for gold chains can be…) buckets of happiness and any ‘dirty linen’ – if there is any dirty linen at all – rigorously ‘never washed in public’ but kept private… A rare example of extraordinary grace and composure even, and most of all, compared to those couples who are aristocratic by birth.”

The two have been dating since 2002, but most of the public was unaware until rumors started to surface after they made their song “03 Bonnie & Clyde” in 2003. On April 4^th, 2008 the couple married in New York City. They have been going strong for 3 years and this isn’t the first time the couple has made news with titles like this one. In 2006 TIME named them “Most Powerful Couple” and in 2009 Forbes named them “Top-Earning Couple.”

My question to you is: do they deserve this title? If not, who does?
