Bishop Eddie Long Wants A Refund of What He Paid Victims

In September 2010, Bishop Eddie Long, the pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist church in Atlanta, was accused of sexual coercion. Maurice Robinson, Anthony Flagg, and Jamal Parris filed lawsuits against Long, claiming that he was paying them, bribing them, and using religious texts to convince them to participate in sexual activity with him. The case was settled in May 2011 but the terms were undisclosed.

Fast forward to the present day, and now the Bishop wants some of the money back that was awarded to the victims in the settlement. BTW, did we mention that the Bishop allegedly treated them to all types of luxuries including expensive vacation trips and cars. Since the agreement stated that the men would not speak out about their relations, and since they obviously went against the agreement by speaking publicly about the situation, Bishop Eddie Long now feels that he deserves his money back. Supposedly he has written a letter, expressing his plan to fight for a refund of the money he spent, which totals about $1.5 million. Legal officials are asserting that this letter could just be a threat and that he may not actually take action on it. No legal documents have been filed by him yet. But if he does file, it might be a valid case, since confidentiality contracts are taken seriously in courts.

Meanwhile, the 3 accusers allegedly also have plans to write a tell-all book, which will release details of what happened in their relationships with Bishop Long.
