Tracy Morgan Responds to Allegations of Being a Piss Poor Son
Earlier this week, we shared an alleged story surrounding Tracy Morgan and some of his family issues. Tracy’s sister, Asia, has reported that their mother needs financial help, from him, in preventing her home from going into foreclosure. According to Asia, Tracy has only offered to pay $2,000. After hearing how this story has grown legs, Morgan released a statement. He wrote that he is :
“saddened that these untrue stories about me have people questioning my commitment to my family. For reasons that are between us, I have not seen my mother in 11 years and outside of a random call here and there have had little to no contact with my sister. We all have personal family issues that we have to deal with in life, but I chose to deal with mine in private and not through the media.”
According to more reports, Morgan’s 62-year-old mother, Alicia Warden, lost her job last year, so her unemployment benefits have almost expired and she also has diabetes and trouble walking. In a phone interview with CNN, Ms. Warden expressesed that she has no knowledge as to why her son, “chose himself not to be with the family, no one did anything to him… I am not trying to hurt Tracy. I love my children to death.” She also said in the interview that after she was laid off of her job last year Tracy offered to help pay her mortgage. She said, “I faxed him my account number and mortgage papers. I thought he was paying it, but after a few months, I realized he didn’t pay it off.” So last month she called Tracy to tell him she needed $25,000 to pay the mortgage but his assistant called back and said, “Tracy would do a one shot deal of $2,000.” And in turn Ms.Warden said,
“I was so upset, I told her to to tell Tracy, ‘Thank you, but no thanks. I am not some person on the street asking you for a handout. I am your mother.’ And that was the end of that.”
Sister Asia also adds,
“If her mortgage is not paid by February 23, 2012, her home will go into foreclosure… We have tried to get in contact with my brother Tracy, but he changes his phone number all the time, so we have no way of talking to him.”
Ms. Warden further explains, “It took me 30 years or more to buy a home. At times I worked two or three jobs to support my children. They always got what they wanted, including Tracy. No one took care of them but me.” So why doesn’t the 30 Rock comedian want to help his family? I guess we’re gonna have to wait till Morgan releases another statement or maybe an episode on Dr.Phil?
