Exclusive Interview:: Tionna Smalls Explains Why “Men Love Abuse”

27 year old relationship advisor and author, Tionna Smalls, became known for her role as Chilli’s matchmaker on the reality show, “What Chilli Wants.” She also wrote her first book titled “Girl Get Your Mind Right,” penned an advice columnist for Gawker, started her own blog titled “Talk Dat Ish,” a radio show called “Talk Dat Ish Radio,” and wrote for Radar Online, and SLC Outsider. As if that all isn’t enough, Tionna is back with her second book titled “Men Love Abuse.” theJasmineBRAND got an exclusive twitter interview with the “love doctor,” to talk about the book, her personal relationship, and more. Peep the quotes.
On what inspired her new book, “Men Love Abuse”:
“All the nice girls who came up to me and told me their problems and all the f—ery in the world.”
On if men like “nice girls”:
“Some men like nice girls but nice girls finish last. In Today’s world u can’t play with these dudes, gotta abuse em’.”
On what she means by “abuse men”:
“Abuse them meaning not call so much, not allow too much access, and not to sweat them. Abuse doesn’t mean hit.”
On if the book intended just for black women:
“Come on, what kind of question is that? Of course not! It may be written with black vernacular but every race can relate. It’s like a rap album: ebonics filled but WPs buy it.”
On her engagement:
“I was too bitchy when we met and he dumped me… So I had to go back to the drawing board. But I don’t play, still. We just worked, that’s why we’re together and he’s a rider.”
On if she’ll ever be able to find Chilli a man:
“That was a TV show, been off a year so we off that! My job is not to find women a man. My job is to coach them on getting any man they want. I’m not a matchmaker… I like to match people sometimes, but just for fun. My career is relationship advisor, dealing with self love and love for others… I’m a coach because I am a motivator. When you read my books you feel strong and powerful. No one like me!”
On why women need to pick up “Men Love Abuse”:
“Pick up the book because [it’s] real and from the heart. Order it from kindle, nook, Barnes&Noble, amazon etc.”
