LA Radio Hosts Suspended for Calling Whitney Houston A “Crack Hoe.”

After the death of superstar Whitney Houston, amongst the mourning and tears of fans and long time friends, came some harsh criticism of her past from naysayers. And some of them are now being made to reap the repercussions of their words. Los Angeles radio hosts of KFI AM suspended two of its employees John Kobylt and Ken Chiampou of the “John and Ken Show,” for some of their negative comments of the “I Will Always Love You,” singer. In this audio, the pair go on a rant bashing Houston’s character saying,

“….she’s a crack head for 20 years and we heard about how obnoxious she was at these parties and she’s doing hand stands, babbling like an idiot and running around….it’s bag lady time. She’s been doing this for 20 years, blew through her money, ruined her voice….she was for practical purposes broke. So how much of a pain in the ass do you think she was? Can you imagine you’re Clive Davis and she hasn’t had her head screwed on right for 20 years, and at some point your just sick of it all and so is everybody else…..Here comes the crack hoe again, what’s she gonna do….after a while, everybody’s exhausted and then you find out she’s dead it’s like really….took this long?”

The station released a statement saying Kobylt and Chiampou were suspended for, “making insensitive and inappropriate comments about the late Whitney Houston….Management does not condone, support or tolerate comments of this kind.” Kobylt also released a statement acknowledging that he and Chiampou, “made a mistake, and [they] accept the station’s decision.” He also admitted that they”used language that was inappropriate,” and that they “sincerely apologize” to their listeners and Houston’s family. The two are also known for making snarky comments against taxes and illegal immigration. The National Hispanic Media Coalition have been on the pair’s tail for a while as they believe the show encourages listeners to limit support for illegal immigrants, their rights and financial aid for illegal immigrant college students. The president and CEO of the group Alex Nogales released a statement also saying, “A temporary suspension is not enough. How many times do John and Ken have to spew their hate, apologize and then do it again after taking off a long weekend? KFI must permanently remove John and Ken from the air. Los Angeles deserves better.” Their show is set to return to air on February 27. Do any of you watch the show? Or from the audio clip do you agree with Nogales’s opinion?
