Iggy Azalea and T.I Make It Official + She Tells Tip, “I’m going to be smashing sh*t for quite some time…”
Since they first hooked up in February, T.I has been caught promoting new rapper, Iggy Azalea, on several occasions. Iggy is a 21-year-old talent from Australia. Her first mixtape came out in September of 2011, and already she has been featured on the cover of XXL’s “Freshman Class” 2012 issue. Most recently, she and T.I were spotted performing together at an All Star Weekend Nightclub. Although the two seemed to be quite close, Iggy was still just an unsigned talent at the time. But, during their recent interview on RapFix Live, T.I and Iggy announced that she has just been officially signed to his Grand Hustle Label, along with a British rapper named Chip and Houston rapper Trae Tha Truth. Showcasing the cute, friendly, bond they have, the two told the story of how they first met, and what made T.I decide to sign her. Iggy said,
“Tip reached out just to meet me, to say hello, and I found a position for him, conveniently, where he could be used. And he was down with it; that’s the truth. I was like, ‘I’m going to be a bushfire that sucks up all the oxygen so nobody can breathe and you might want an oxygen mask.'”
T.I confirmed Iggy’s initial confidence. He said,
“I think her exact words were, ‘It’s very smart of you to call me because I’m going to be smashing shit for quite some time now and no one will be able to breathe if they’re not on my team. So it’s good that you’ll be here, so you’ll have oxygen.'”
