Chuck Brown’s Daughter Denies Death Rumors, “It’s not life-threatening…”

Last week, we learned that Washington, DC’s own Chuck Brown, who is affectionately referred to as the “Godfather of Go Go,” had been hospitalized. The Washington Post reported that the 75-year-old singer/musician did not make a scheduled appearance because of joint pain and inflammation. And this week, rumors began circulating online that Chuck had passed. But according to his daughter, Cherita Whiting, that information is totally false. His daughter told the Washington Post,
“It’s nothing life-threatening. He’s just getting some much-needed rest… Get ready for him when he hits the stage again… Please stop the rumors. I just wish people would put themselves in our shoes… With social media, stuff spreads so fast and it’s not right.”
We wish Chuck a speedy recovery!
