Vocal Swelling, Hemorrhaging Cause Singer Maxwell to Cancel Show

Sad news for Maxwell (real name Gerald Maxwell Rivera) fans. Over the weekend, we learned that the 39-year-old singer was forced to cancel his six-date U.S. summer tour. He developed vocal swelling and hemorrhaging and was advised by his doctors to have a seat, literally (he will need to undergo treatment and rest). He confirmed on twitter that he’d be “cashing out” (resting), per the doctor’s order:
