[Interview] LHHA’s Mimi Faust Announces New Book, Talks Love & Life When The Cameras Are Off

Like some of you reality TV junkies, I too was fascinated with seeing the lives of the cast of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta. Since the popular VH1 show is on hiatus until season two, I thought it was a perfect time to catch up with Mimi Faust. As you know, Mimi has a child with her cast-mate Stevie J and if you watched their story-line throughout the season, you'll know that these two loved and faught hard. We recently caught up with her and talked relationships and love (what her status is with Stevie J and the theory that all men cheat), if she's been in contact with Joseline (outside of filming), life when the camera's aren't rolling (she's penning a book, launching a kids clothing line and a home line) and if she'll be back for season two. Peep a few excerpts below:
On life after season the season ended:
I'm busier than I've ever been in my entire life – which is good.
On business ventures, outside of LHHA:
I have my business, Keep It Clean, which I've had for 11 years. Its a cleaning service. I do residential and commercial property. I clean for high end clientele. I'm actually doing a clothing line inspired by my daughter. I'm doing a whole children's line of cute, casual, comfortable clothes. I'm coming out with a book. It's called Warning Signs about dating men in the business. Also, another thing that I'm doing, I'm coming out with a home line that'll be in Target or Walmart – I want it to be affordable. It'll be accessories for your home.
On if she was acurraely portrayed on the show:
I was portrayed how they saw fit for the show.
Oh her relationship with Stevie J:
He's Dad, I'm Mom, we co-parent and we're cordial. We have to do business together as well.
On why she thinks LHHA was so successful:
I think it was successful because it was real. The situations were real and I don't think people were used to seeing that.

[Editor’s Note: We’ve created a series called ‘Cocktails (or Coffee) with The Jasmine Brand’, where we chat with celebs in a more comfortable environment. Our goal is to catch up with celebs, reality stars, etc., during their ‘off time’ (when they aren’t shooting, on tour), in hopes of giving folk a real look at who their favorite (or not so favorite) celebs are. We’ll include some behind-the-scenes footage–like me checking my phone a million times, or someone stopping by to speak with Mimi mid-interview. Anywho, give me your thoughts on whether you like it or it sucks b*lls. As always, thank you for your patience and sorry for rambling.]

Great interview, Jasmine! I'm going to share this on my LHHA site!
I'd love to connect and build.
Best wishes and continued success!
Love it! Cocktails or Coffee with Jasmine is uniquely clever :)
Glad things are going well for you Mimi always put god first and everything else will fall into order…..
Hey guys! I think this is a great idea! My only suggestion is that you don’t use a hand held mic. That will make it seem more like a private conversation that your audience is lucky enough to be a fly on the wall for. Also, maybe you would be able to get a sponsor if you chose a particular brand of drink….. run with this. Love to see women doing their thing!
thank you :)
