Kelly Rowland Responds to Keyshia Cole’s Super Bowl Diss: ‘We Matter To A Lot More People, Than Her’

Just when you thought the Keyshia Cole vs. Michelle Williams light-weight beef was long forgotten, some crafty media outlet asks for a comment, and just like that–it begins again. Thanks, Rolling Stone :) While promoting her upcoming album ‘Talk A Good Game‘, Kelly Rowland was asked about the not-so-nice comments made by Keyshia Cole about Michelle Williams’ Super Bowl performance, with Destiny’s Child. When asked what she felt about Mrs. Cole’s comments, she replied:

It didn’t even make it on my radar until other people brought it up. It didn’t even matter. We had a wonderful performance, and that’s all I cared about. I was with my sisters and the three of us matter to each other, and that’s all that counts. We matter to a lot more people, with all due respect, than her. So, I really don’t care what she said.

Ouch! [BTW, when someone includes the line, ‘With all due respect’, you can bet, it’s about to be semi-offensive..] Kelly also talked about wanted to document her life (similar to Beyonce’s HBO special) and create a video journal.

I think it’s really important. That way, you look back and see how far you’ve really come. For now, I’m gonna keep it private just for me.

The 32-year-old also discussed her future plans outside of music:

I want to do a line of accessories and shoes. I’m working on that right now. I always draw something in my tablet that I carry and I always have ideas on accessories, on what I would change or [how I would] hook certain things up. I want it to be affordable but luxurious, that every woman can have and feel sexy and fly in. I’m working on it. I’m headed to L.A. now to make sure of that. Early, early talks and early stages, but yeah, I’m a grown woman now, and it’s time to do grown-woman things.

Welp. I guess we’ll hafta wait and see if/what Keyshia’s response will be. Although it’s entertaining, aren’t we kinda-sorta over this? And what do you think of Kelly’s comments–valid or out-of-pocket?

Jas u know it wasn’t outta pocket, these girls are classy which is the only reason she didn’t get cussed out. Cole need to just fallback. I’m sure she’ll be ignored if she starts again tho. #ThatGirlKellz

Please keep your shoes and accessories to yourself. Diana Ross never did fashion line. Focus on your craft and stick to it. Dang. We have no lines here…every industry is a blur these days. I hope my Gyn doesn’t decide to drop a rap album anytime soon.

Keyshia tried to shade Michelle, and it backfired because she’s having shade thrown @ her left and right!!!!!!!!! Kelly Rowland & Michelle Williams knows what it means to tour as solo artists, NOT OPENING ACTS (when have you ever known for Keyshia Cole to headline or be co- headliner of a tour…. NEVER). Yes, Kelly & Michelle don’t have the same level of success as Beyonce, but HELL as least they do have the hookup, Keyshia does not.

@JRoc85 Seriously….neither Kelly nor Michelle has had a prominent solo career…no hits…no chart toppers…only flopped solo albums. The only thing they do have is Beyonce’s coat tails to ride on. What was the purpose of them performing halftime anyway only to sing Beyonce’s song?!?!? Keyshia has headlines with R. Kelly and had 2 successful reality shows. I’m not a huge fan of any of these ladies (w/ the exception of Bey), but talk realistically. Kelly should have kept her mouth shut. Keyshia actually complimented HER! Everyone knows Michelle can’t sing…you couldn’t even hear her during the performance! I’m sorry, but Kelly can’t make a hit without having a popular rapper all over the song!
