‘Married To Medicine’ Scores Big Ratings, NeNe Leakes Calls Show ‘Copy Cats’ + Jennifer Hudson Celebrates Weight Watchers Anniversary
Looks like Bravo has another hit series on its hands. The series premiere of Married to Medicine scored 1.9 million viewers, making it the most watched non-spinoff series in network history. The show follows six successful and educated women: Mariah Huq, Kari Wells, Jacqueline Waters, Quad Webb-Lanceford, Simone Whitmore and Tasha Bush-Harris who are either doctors or doctors wives connected to the world of medicine in the reality show capital, Atlanta. With housewives franchise darling Real Housewives of Atlanta ending soon, Married to Medicine is poised to fill the void. Original RHOA cast member and “Very Rich Bi-ch” Nene Leakes commented on the new show via Twitter, throwing some obvious shade on the new show:
Nene doesn’t seem like much of a fan. We’re sure Bravo wants MTM to “copycat” the success of the Housewives franchise and by the looks of the trailer its sure to get messy real soon. BTW, what did YOU think of the show?
In other news,
Actress and singer Jennifer Hudson gleamed in gold at the Weight Watchers 50th Anniversary party. The 31-year-old Oscar and Grammy award winner stunned in a black top and gold Donna Karan skirt showing off her svelte figure at a tribute to the organizations founder, Jean Nietch in New York City. With the help of the organization, Hudson lost 80 pounds even after the birth of her son with fiancé wrestler WWE David Otunga. In an interview she stated:
Some love it and say they’re inspired, and others don’t . . . I can’t care about whether I’m too big for some or too small for others . . . I like me the way I am. For anyone who wants to lose: Dude, if I can do it, you can do it. And for those who want to stay the same, I hope I can be an example to you, too; I was proud of being a big girl.
I’m prouder of my weight loss than my Oscar! I hope it has inspired people.”

Hudson is currently starring in Smash on NBC with American Idol alum Katherine McPhee and is currently working on her third album with producer Salaam Remi. Her self-titled debut album won a Grammy for Best R&B album in 2008.

I liked the first episode, and I don’t blame Nene for being upset over this show; the similarities between this show and Atlanta are hard to overlook. I was working late at DISH and miss the first episode of Married to Medicine. Fortunately, I remembered to set the timer on my DISH Hopper to record it for me. Since it can hold up to 2,000 hours of entertainment space; I can record the full season and the full seasons of my other favorite shows. This is the perfect way for me to watch this show after a long day of work.
To me Taylor sounded like R. Kelly’s ex-wife from that other reality show.
