Should J.Lo Replace Mariah Carey On ‘American Idol’? + Kris Jenner Explains Why Daughter Got The The Axe From X Factor
Is there trouble brewing on American Idol? With season 12 narrowing down it’s final four and suffering from a steep rating decline, producers of American Idol ALLEGEDLY had drastic plans–replace current judge multiplatinum and Grammy award winning singer Mariah Carey with former judge Jennifer Lopez. Singer/actress Jennifer Lopez appeared as a judge on American Idol seasons 10 and 11, but left the show after deciding that she wanted to continue focusing on her career. According to reports, producers planned to bring in Lopez mid-season to jump start the ratings, but American Idol newbie Carey responded with threats of legal action. Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe said:
I have not been included in any conversation regarding replacing Mariah with Jen this season.”
Another show producer declined these reports, explaining:
This is just another ridiculous Idol judge rumor, likely started by talks of Jennifer performing on the finale.”
Season 12 ratings of the newly revamped judging panel which also includes Randy Jackson, country music singer Keith Urban, Nicki Minaj began strong but has steadily declined since and continues to lose NBC’s The Voice with judges Usher and Shakira.
Lopez is currently negotiating to appear on the finale in May.

Khloe Kardashian has finally gotten the X from X Factor. Earlier the week, the 28-year-old reality star was relieved of her hosting duties on the popular FOX reality singing competition show. While it is still unclear what caused Khloe to be dismissed from the show, mom and manager Kris Jenner quickly came to her daughters defense saying:
Khloe had such a good time and she wasn’t sure if she was going to come back or not, so I think that with everything going on and the other three shows she’s working on, it just worked out for the best. Everything happens for a reason, but she was in love with her experience and had such a good time.”
Veteran host Ryan Seacrest and producer of the Kardashian television shows quickly came to her defense adding:
She did a great job. That’s tough if you’ve never done it before. She’s not trained at it, she kind of went out there, and her first gig was a live national show. She’s got plenty to do and I think she’ll be just fine, and I think she’d say, ‘what a great experience and I’m glad that I had the opportunity to do it.”
Khloe co-owns DASH clothing stores with sisters Kim and Kourtney Kardashian and appears on E! Networks, Keeping Up With The Kardashians and Kourtney and Kim Take Miami. She is also married to LA Clippers baller Lamar Odom. We are sure she’ll come out on top, right?
