Miguel’s Leg Drop Victim, May Have Sustained Brain Damage From Accident
What started off as a funny moment has turned serious–very quickly. As you recall, during the recent Billboard Music Awards, R&B singer Miguel accidentally drop kicked a woman in the crowd, accidentally. The girl’s name is Khyati Shah and according to TMZ, she suffered serious trauma from the incident. In fact, her symptoms are consistent with brain damage, the victim’s lawyer (Vip Bhola) explains.
Some of the difficulties she’s experiencing are cognitive in nature and lead to suspicion of a neurological head injury.
While her attorney says BMA responded to the accident with a pathetic gesture, an ice pack designed to soothe a bruised elbow, he says his client should have been rushed to the hospital. Reportedly, they are waiting for test results from a neurologist. When the results are in — sometime next week — Khyati will decide if a lawsuit will be executed. Immediately after the accident, Miguel was very apologetic, saying:
The natural inclination is to make sure everyone around you is okay right? But then it’s like the show must go on, which is like professionalism, so that kicks in. As soon as the cameras are off I’m like running to the girl, making sure she’s okay, ‘let me take her to the infirmary, let me talk to her, are you okay?’
Miguel has not yet commented on the possibility of a lawsuit. Stay tuned.
