Slowly but surely, Kanye West gives us more insight into his interesting world. I’ll admit, most of us drew our own conclusions, compliments of his live concert rumblings or twitter rants, but his latest press runs share more about the rap genius (his words, not mine). This week, the 34-year-old stopped by Power 106, dishing on any and everything including his engagement (he absolutely is open to broadcasting their wedding for a huge check), daughter (he believes she should receive a paycheck from paparazzi), his decision to be ‘Turnt Up’ in all aspects of his life and why he considers being beautiful an actual talent and more.

Check out some of our favorite parts of the interview.

On luxury brands taking advantage of creative people:

If I had the opportunity to design for Louis Vuitton now, I wouldn’t because the price is to extreme. I don’t want to use my message to have kids saving up that much to be apart of what the ideas are. That’s the problem with me with luxury. It’s one thing that good, is that I don’t totally agree with what H &M and Zara does but one thing that’s is good about is that they were able to break that idea, that creativity and things that you really want have to cost like a million dollars plus….The prices get sold you based on this perception…The only real luxury is time.

Why he calls himself the most influential person in fashion since the last 10 years:

I don’t look and feel of how fashion look. It’s the same thing when I wanted to rap, I didn’t look like a rapper cause I had a polo shirt on or a producer or something like that. Now because I am an aggressive, black male, American rock star all that stuff, thats not the look of the fashion whatever. But I got in my codes, I got in my genes  and as soon as I get the proper infrastructure behind me, its gonna be a train that nobody can stop.

 On why he is relevant:

I can sit there with billionaires all day and they can talk how they are working on a new Cirque Du Soleil act or doing something like that and they not seeing me and my level of relevancy. I’m Michael Jordaning people right now. The level relevancy of what I do in comparision to what anybody else do.

On famous people giving him unsolicited advice:

I’ll sit down Oprah, I’ll sit down with heads of studios..Everybody got some advice for me. I don’t like the way you going about doing it and Michael Jackson never did this. I said, ‘I ain’t Michael Jackson I’m not just a muscion. I’m a Christian, visionary, revloutionary products person. I ain’t here to dance for ya’ll. I’m not here to do a two step. That was just a piece that was just my in. And now I want to create.

Why he has the right to be anything (rapper, producer, designer, etc.):

When you are first born, you’re just you. It seems like whatever skills set you gain, you’re box into that. That might not even be you’re true calling…People have the right to go and explore other things.People  try tosay,’you’re not gonna stop doing music are you?’ You don’t have to the right to tell me what I’m going to stop, start, finish. Anything. Imma do what I feel like. When I wake up, when I think it, thats what I do.. I’m in a position to do it, then that’s what imma do.

The number of black billionaires:

I was eating dinner with [Mark] Zuckerberg [creator of Facebook] and I was like yo it’s only like seven black billionaires in the world. Last I checked it was only 1463 billionaires in the world and only seven black ones. You know one definitely. [Oprah] is the only one we know…It’s not even about having the money, to have the money. Its about having the ability to help. Having the ability to effect change for real. You can’t effect change from inside the White House like that.

Comparing himself to Steve Jobs:
My mentality is far more of a Steve Jobs than Apple, whenever ya’ll hear me say ‘Yea I’m Steve jobs and I’m that’ Man,  don’t worry about how I’m saying what I’m saying it… look at what I’m saying and what I feel and what my intent is… because people get so caught up on ‘oh he said that the wrong way, he used all caps’.
Why people should be careful about speaking negatively about God’s people (like himself)
I saw MediaTakeout, just randomly had something that I took a picture of before I went on stage you know i wear this mask, and the caption was “Kanye is such a weirdo”.  Man, no weapon formed against me shall prosper, you need to watch who ya’ll talking about and ask for favor and please stay blessed because you do not want to go against the power. I’m working on one mission and that’s a mission from God, period. So all this negative energy that ya’ll throwing against me and this confusion that ya’ll trynna put around me, I’m going to make it very clear exactly what I’m here to do and I’m going to apply all the blessings that I’ve got. All the info and creativity that I’ve got and I’m going to really help.

On wanting to marry Kim Kardashian from day one, but waiting for her:

I wanted to marry that girl from the first time I saw her and I just had to wait through a bunch of relationships to finally get my chance.”
On writing a song about Kim, while she was in a relationship with someone else:
Its just patience, ya know its certain things that you know ;like this is right for me and this is what i should be doing you have to be patient. You gotta speak about it, I wrote a song about it, you know in lost in a world I wrote this poem for her and it ended up being the lyrics for “lost in the world”.
On why being beautiful is a talent:
Like Karrine Rafald said on my girls birthday; she was the editor of French Vogue now she has her own magazine called SCR , she said “In my industry beauty is a talent.” People used to be like, ‘What is she talented for?’  She is talented at being beautiful. If you go to a club and its a bunch of beautiful girls you may say its a bunch of talent in here.
If Kim had any clues about his surprise proposal:
Yeah, I planned all that out. Its very much like a Donda exercise. Ill sit with my team of creators and well say whats the best version of this or how can we get that;  we want Lana Del Ray , ‘oh she ain’t show up oh okay we want an orchestra to do it.
On designing Kim’s engagement ring:
She knew i was going to eventually ask her to marry me i just had to get that ring right. I worked with 4 different jewelers, 3 rings were made and only one actually hit the finger with Lorraine, she came through. I actually changed the ring the night before, it was less than 4 hours old by the time I gave it to her. I was nervous a little bit, but it was just everything happening on cue.”
Apologizing for turning up so much:
I have to apologize to the race of males for turning up so much like that (lol)…I apologize for having to turn up so much but you know people looking at me crazy on Jimmy Kimmel for saying I’m a creative genius because you ain’t suppose to word it like that or say it like that. I said ‘I’m about to turn up on ya’ll because ya’ll think its a game. I’m going to hit these interviews, I’m gonna bring Jesus out on stage. Whatever come to my mind I’m gonna prove to ya’ll that this isn’t just some rap stuff, I’m gonna prove to ya’ll that anything that ya’ll reading that has a negative connotation towards me is just a distraction.
On if he was offered a large amount for Baby North:
I heard…It wasn’t in stone.
On if he wants his daughter to receive a percentage from the paparazzi, of the shots that they take of her:
I wanna legalize paparazzi…I think the government should get paid.
If Bruce will walk Kim down the aisle:
‘I’m not sure…All the codes and the insides and the secrets, it’s like hopefully, next summer. For me, it ain’t no surprises. It’s like a open book for me.’
