If you think you’re too old to pursue your dreams, think again, friends. A teary-eyed Tamar Braxton told the Soul Train Awards audience those exact words, while accepting the an award (she snatched three of ’em). After thanking her family and camp, she explained:
I just really wanna leave you guys this note. I never thought in my life, that I would be here. And the only reason is that because I almost gave up on myself and I just wanna let you guys know. No matter want you wanna be, no matter who you wanna be, don’t give up on you. It’s possible. I’m 36-years-old and I’m proud of it…and I don’t give a damn if I was 56, she was NOT finna stop. Point blank and the period.

I LOVE Tamar!! Her talent speaks for itself and I’m so happy to see her achieve her dreams. It really goes to show that no matter what naysayers think or say as long as you don’t give up on you your hard work will prove them wrong.

I’m happy for her, she deserves it after all of these years trying to become solo. Also, a great message in never giving up…dramatic or not, that’s just Tamar! I think she does her alter ego’s so much that it’s really become a part of who she is!

First I want to say that I like Tamar and I am proud of her success. I am glad that she did not give up on her dreams BUT she really does need to work on her facial expressions when she is singing. I can barely watch her when she performs because she has a look on her face like it is hurting he to sing.

Her performance was mediocre at best… she attempts to show stage presence and confidence but it just doesnt come across well… IMO ….
I’m so Team Tamar- but her designer needs a good talking to- that cat suit with the shimmery thong over-lay was a distraction!
I wasn’t a fan of the catsuit either. But like I told a friend, I’d rather her take a risk than wear the typical-hugging body dress.
I love tamar!! I felt i too was old at 36..not quite in ur 20’s…and kinda in the middle past 30’s…but no more!! Im getting all that God has for me! my college degree, my coupe!! ain’t letting no age stop me!
