Rumor Fail: Wayne Brady: ‘I Am NOT Dating Chilli!’
It’s only January, but we were hoping that cupid was getting an early start in the love department. Early Monday (January 6), news broke that comedic actor and TV host Wayne Brady was dating TLC’s Chilli (real name Rozonda Ocelean Thomas). Reportedly, the two were spotted together, holding hands on Friday night at some point during TLC’s concert in Las Vegas at the MGM. A source told US Weekly:
They were so cute, stopping to take pictures with fans. He kept her close to him the whole time.
Another source added:
It has only been two weeks but they really like each other. They’ve been friends for years but there has always been this flirtation. Both of them had a hard time being single, so they love dating a friend and someone in the business. They make a really great couple.
Rumor has it, the two have dated over a year ago, but nothing serious became of it. After news hit of their budding romantic relationship, Wayne disputed reports, tweeting:
So, just clear it up @officialchilli are not dating. Who wouldn’t want to though, right? Don’t believe everything u read:)
Chilli joined in by retweeting his, We’re Not A Couple message. We’re not sure if this is a cover-up attempt to try and keep their relationship private or if they’re simply platonic friends.
The Whose Line Is It Anyway star was previously married to Diana Lasso for two years until their split in 1995. He also was married to Mandie Taketa from 1999 to 2008, with whom he has 10-year-old daughter Maile. Chilli has never been married, but had a high profile relationship with Usher for three years. Early in her career, she also dated music producer Dallas Austin, with whom they have a 17-year-old son named Tron.
