[WATCH] How Young Is Too Young? The Game’s Daughter Sings About Surfboards & Swervin
Let’s be clear, we love us some Beyoncé, but don’t you agree that some of her lyrical content is for adults only? Some innocent footage posted by popular rapper The Game (Jayceon Taylor), has a few of us debating whether or not kiddies should be able to vibe to one of our favorite artists. Instagram footage of the rapper’s daughter, Cali, shows her singing Beyonce’s ‘Drunk In Love‘. Featured on her new self-titled visual album, the track
Louis sheets, he sweat it out like washed rags, he wet it up
Boy, I’m drinking, I’m singing on the mic ’til my voice hoarse
Then I fill the tub up halfway then ride it with my surfboard
Surfboard, surfboard
Graining on that wood, graining, graining on that wood
I’m swerving on that, swerving, swerving on that big body Benz
Serving all this, swerve, surfing all of this good good
[Editor’s Note: Click here for the explanation behind the term ‘surfboard‘.] The Game shared clips of Cali (who’s featured on his VH1 show ‘Marrying the Game’) singing her heart out, writing
Well, that was a short nap & @littlemisscali must’ve had a dream she was Beyoncé because this is happening right now on our way to McDonald’s !!!!
Check her out in action.
And here’s the official of Bey’s ‘Drunk In Love’ featuring Jay Z.

Why should it matter now? The music today is laced with profanity and crude lyrics and people don’t seem to care that teens and young kids are listening. At what age should they listen? My 12 year old don’t need to pump this kind of music into her, but nobody would mind her being a fan. Some might say it don’t hurt if they don’t understand the meaning. I think what you feed your spirit matters at any age.
Considering the lyrics to his music which I am sure she has heard, I would say inappropriate, but it’s his child and he can raise her how he wants.
Now now people we cant have morals now its a bit late for that
I’m sure she has no clue what she is saying or the literal meaning of the lyrics. Isn’t she like 2 or 3? I doubt it is going to scar her for life. People get all self-righteous about everybody else’s kids and not their own. Pop in your child’s ipod and see what they are listening to. Hmmph.
That’s not all true. There are parents who know what their kids are listening to because they monitor things and do random checks. Not all kids are sneaking and hiding. Not all parents are in the dark or not tuned in. And it’s not self-righteous, it’s a persons view. Why label it with a negative label because the view is different from yours? Somebody could label you judgmental. They’re judging for their opinion on the little girl, and your judging based on your opinion of their take on it. So, I guess you’re a little self-righteous and in the same boat.
I think it was innocently adorable. she’s 3, i doubt she know what the words mean. yall judgemental asses, use to sing songs and didnt know the meaning. lets knot forget you were kids at one time. smdh
I didn’t.
For reason I am able to watch the video of her singing, however, I am able to remember when I was younger and I sang the Hell out of “Mary Jane”–I thought he was talking about a REAL WOMAN…I knew the words to Brick House…When Minnie Riperton made those soft sounds in Memory Lane—I mimic-ed that same sounds…I loved singing “Jungle Boogie” by Kool & the Gang…and let’s not even talk about “Tell Me Something Good” by Chaka Kahn…I guess what I am getting at is that I was a little girl…I had know idea the songs were that suggestive…once I realized though it was Giggle City all the way
Ackkkk! I hate reading MY typos and grammatical errors…I meant to say “no” instead of “know”…I KNOW the difference. :) ***shrug on the other stuff I see.***
