Kim Burrell Says Bobbi Kristina’s Lifestyle is Killing Her: Baby just stop it!
Close family friend to the late Whitney Houston, Kim Burrell is more than alarmed about the legendary singer’s only daughter Bobbi Kristina. If you’re an avid reader of the site, you’re well aware of what some consider troubling behavior by the 21-year-old. During an interview with ESSENCE, the gospel singer, who was extremely close with Whitney, expressed her concern for how Bobbi Kristina lives her life.
She says:
I remind her too much of her mama in a lot of ways. If I were to be in her ear, the first words I would probably say are, ‘Just stop it. And you know exactly what I mean. You know what time it is. Don’t go there.’ The girl is smart. To me, she’s a victim of circumstance. I’m not making any excuses, but she was born into craziness. At nine years old, your parents give you $5,000 to go shopping, and the money increases as you get older and you’re pretty much on your own. And you’re doing what you want to do and you’re around all this stuff that she’s involved in as a teenager.
She shares that if she had her ear, she’d warn her to live her own life. She adds:
So, I would just tell her, ‘Baby, just stop.’ And consider your life to be your own and not a reflection of anyone else’s. Do your best to try to live from this moment forward as an adult because right now you’re living out something that’s killing you quickly. I don’t want to talk too much about [her marriage] ‘cause it is a sore spot. She’s young. And I just hope that at some point she’ll let people in. She’s very rebellious, but she loves me. She just doesn’t want to hear what I have to say. And I get that.

It sounds like Kim had a very close relationship with Whitney and if that’s the case, she would know better than we do, so I would agree with what she’s saying. But also, if that were my close friend’s child in this situation, I think I would try to talk to her though, whether she wanted to hear it or not. Especially since she says that she loves her. I’m sure Whitney would appreciate it.
I believe Kim and she is giving Kristina some good advice. She said Kristina is being rebellious and doesn’t want to hear what she has to say. I think Kim has tried talking to her that is why she is publicly saying something about it. Kim just has to realize that when you have done all you can do now just pray for her. I also think that Kristina did have the odds against her from day one like Kim said because look at who her parents are. Giving her $5000 to shopping and she was a 9?? If at least one of them would have been a better parent then maybe she would had have a chance. But it’s never too late and I hope she get it together b4 something bad happens.
She’s 21 now and you know that’s when people REALLY start feeling themselves…All we can do instead of speculate is to PRAY!!!!!!
I miss Whitney so much. I believe if she was still here much of this nonsense would not be going on. Bobbi and Nick so called marriage is questionable. The only family member that seems to be stable is Whitney’s mother Sissy. Pat, Gary, and the rest of them seem troubled and all about dollar signs. I guess I was hoping and expecting more for Bobbi Kristina. I wish she would focus on herself like Kim said and forget about her brother/husband (YUCK) Nick. She is a teenager and they all get crazy sometimes I just hope she knows what the limits are.
