Break Up, To Make Up: Are Nelly & Tae Heckard Dating Again?

The best way to find out someone’s relationship status? Their social media.

Folk stay updating their relationship status on places like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. And celebrities are no different. Case in point? The on again, off again, love triangle between rapper Nelly, singer Ashanti and video model turned actress, Tae Heckard.

As you’re aware, Nelly and Ashanti ended their three year and some change relationship last year, with the rapper being linked to Tae. Late last year, rumors swirled that Ashanti and Nelly had reconciled, after folk spotted them at a Super Bowl after party in NYC. In an interview with Power 105?s The Breakfast Club, Ashanti down played their relationship: 

I mean, I will say that there was a space where it was BAD..Are we cool? Yeah. When a person is hurt….men deal with hurt differently. There were a lot of things said publicly that shouldn’t have…

And when asked if he was ‘the one’, she side-stepped the answer, replying

Nelly is a really good person. He has a really good heart. You know?

Just last month, we thought that all signs were leading us to believe that they were close to being officially an ‘item’ again.

On the night of her album release, Ashanti had a Face-Time/Skype session with Nelly in an Atlanta club. Nelly’s call was a complete surprise to the former Murder Inc singer and she even showed the crowd her phone.

Fast forward to the present day and Nelly seems to be crushing on Tae. He used popular Women Crush Wednesday to shout out Tae, sharing a photo of her with the caption:

#WCW and so what…???? @lashontae aka Cookie ..

So are these two back together, or is this a case of innocent Instagram flirting?
