[Pink Slip Problems] Columbus Short Announces Exit From ‘Scandal’ After Domestic Violence Claims + Read His Statement
I have enjoyed every single minute of it. Everything must come to an end, and unfortunately the time has come for Harrison Wright to exit the canvas. I wish nothing but the best for Shonda, Kerry[Washington] and the rest of the cast, who have become like a second family to me in such a short amount of time. For this, I will forever be grateful.
Insiders suggest that he was actually fired from the show, as characters usually don’t announce their departure. As previously reported, in March a man claimed that he was assaulted by Columbus at a West Los Angeles restaurant. Earlier this month, new claims by Columbus’ wife, Tanee McCall (Short), were released. Tuere filed a restraining order after she claims he threatened her life.
In February, he was charged with misdemeanor spousal battery. She has filed for divorce and seeks custody of their two-year-old daughter.
Earlier this week, we shared an apology of the actor’s behavior after an awkward interview on the Tom Joyner Morning Show. In a statement, he said:
TJMS, My sincerest apologies for the confusion over my appearance on your show last Friday morning. I am a long time supporter and admirer of The Tom Joyner Morning Show and I was looking forward to an opportunity to speak with you and your audience. Unfortunately, the early morning (approximately 5:45AM Pacific Time) following a late-night event had me at what some describe, less than my best.
The show’s creator, Shonda Rhimes, has yet to respond or comment. During the season finale, Columbus’ character, Harrison, was in a compromising life or death situation. Our guess is, he’ll be killed off. P.S. What are your thoughts on Columbus’ departure?
