[Photos] Pharrell Presents ‘RAW for the Oceans’ At New York Fashion Week

On Friday (September 5), Pharrell Williams presented his RAW for the Oceans spring-summer collection during New York Fashion Week. Raw For the Oceans is the world’s first denim from recycled ocean plastic.

Sporting his signature hat, the 41-year-old artist led models down the runway, introducing the line, a collaboration with G-Star and Bionic Yarn, which produces fabrics made by fibers collected from recycled plastic bottles.

Held at 23 Wall Street, Frank Ocean and Jay Z’s “Water” played in the background, while Pharrell told the crowd: 

I have been given opportunities by really great companies, and I’ve been given opportunities by really great people. I wanted to learn more about what’s out there creatively and how I could further find new ways to express myself.
