Porsha Williams Says Bravo Blindsided Her With RHOA Demotion + Read Her Full Statement!
This is not an easy time for me right now, but I want let everyone to know that I loved being a ‘Housewife’ on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and I am thankful for Bravo for the opportunity but it’s not goodbye, you will see me on the show throughout the season sharing and bonding with the other women and I promise to stay connected with my fans as I start an exciting new time in my life.
After a long season of filming, and giving my all, I was blindsided by the announcement from the network that I was demoted from ‘Housewife Status,’ but would remain on the show in a ‘Friend’ capacity.
Unfortunately, I can only be PORSHA, and portraying anything else, would not be genuine nor honest. This moment is bittersweet, but God has been so amazing to me, and I think this is a perfect time for me to spread my wings, and finally focus on all of my upcoming projects.
In addition to having my recurring role on RHOA, I will be able to focus my attention on my career as an Entertainment Correspondent on DISH NATION on the Fox Network, recording my album, building my businesses, and taking baby steps towards nurturing my relationship with my new love!!!
This is the beginning of a new chapter in my life, and I will be giving my fans & supporters another chance to watch my growth as I take on the world in my own special way very soon!! I am so Thankful for all that #TEAMPORSHA does to keep me INSPIRED every day! Stay Tuned…
As previously reported, the official cast members for season 7 are Cynthia Bailey, Kandi Burruss, NeNe Leakes, Kenya Moore, Phaedra Parks and newcomer Claudia Jordan. Demetria McKinney, who is new to the show, and Porsha will have recurring roles.

Only Bravo would demote a real ex-housewife and give a promotion to a non-housewife. Im a fan of Porsha and Im happy that she is coming into her own without Kordell and RHOA!
I think this needed to happen for her to grow. I am glad to see her go because she can put more focus on her other ventures. While it may not seem like it at the moment, they have done her a favor and this is her blessing in disguise. She is trying to build her business and the last thing you want investors to remember you for is attacking someone.
So,shes not included in all of season 7?Did she only do a few scenes or what?
They did this same thing with Luann de Lesseps on RHONY. She was on every single episode like a regular housewife. She had interviews throughout the episodes and she was in the entire reunion…but she didn’t hold the apple at the bginning of the episodes, like the “legitimate” housewives do… so weird.
Bravo is weird.
Im a little bummed too that she won’t be back as a regular! I mean from the trailer, I would definitely feel some type of way if this new chick, Claudia, is coming in and basically trying to take her place.(She’s flirting with Kordell and people are toasting to her being the new “Mrs. Stewart” smh GTFOH) I just feel a little bad for her because she was one of my favorites. I also think it’s kinda messed up for them to not tell her until when the promo came out! Like how does that work? Has she already gotten paid for the season? Is it somewhere in her contract that she could be demoted at any time? #Shady
I’m proud of Bravo for taking a stand. I hope the adapt a zero tolerance when it comes to violence. These women are middle aged! (not Candyor Porsha) they where entirely too old to be fighting! If you want ghetto behavior tune into a Mona Scott Young production. Sorry Porsha but you needed this to get your mind right. Grow from this and then show them all what you are mad of.
