Gabrielle Union Pens Open Letter About Leaked Nude Photos: I just wanted to hide.
Gabrielle Union is using her voice to speak out against hackers who stole her nude photos, along with other celebrities. The newly married actress penned an essay for Cosmopolitan, sharing how and when she discovered the news, the range of emotions she felt and how she chooses to move forward. Check out a few excerpts of her piece.
On learning that she may be a victim of the celebrity nude hack:
A day after I got married this past August, rumors spread on the Internet that my name was on a list of more than 100 women whose private photos had been stolen off Apple’s iCloud. I had been so happy that week, thinking about my wedding and honeymoon with my new husband, Miami Heat basketball player Dwyane Wade. But suddenly, I felt paralyzed.
Bracing herself for the leak:
It felt like The Hunger Games: You’re waiting to be attacked. Friends are assuring you that this will pass and people will move on to the next thing. But in this case, the next thing means the next victim — the next woman to have her naked body exposed to strangers against her will. And the crowd in the arena is going wild. People are critiquing and judging, cheering for more. They’re shouting, “Next! Next!” My honeymoon was plagued by thoughts of when I would get hit. It was always in the back of my mind: Will today be the day my life gets ruined? I thought about my family and everyone the scandal would affect — my mom, who teaches classes about Catholicism to kids, and the three boys I had become a stepmother to when I married Dwyane. My husband, meanwhile, would always have to wonder who had seen intimate photos of me that only he was supposed to see.

These womens husbands see them naked all day/everyday if they want to, so I don’t see why in the hell they would send them pics. Especially as a celebrity! There is much more you can do for the element of surprise or excitement. Not just a celebrity but all women shouldn’t take any nude pictures…period. Unless you’re are ok if something like this happens, then the solution is -just don’t do it. And since they already did, nothing you can do about it except talk to those little one’s & parents who will someday see it and be embarrassed and/or mortified behind your actions. NOTHING IS PRIVATE on the internet. smh
