(EXCLUSIVE) Judge Orders Jay Z to Submit Financial Docs in “Big Pimpin” Lawsuit
theJasmineBRAND.com has exclusively learned that Jay Z was shut down by a federal court judge and has been ordered to hand over confidential financial information stating how much he made per concert — in the legal battle over his hit song “Big Pimpin”.
As previously reported, the Roc Nation mogul has been battling a lawsuit over a sample he used in his hit song “Big Pimpin” since 2007. Reportedly, Osama Ahmed Fahmy – the heir to a 1960’s composer named Baligh Hamdy who created the musical composition ‘Khosara, Khosara” – filed suit claiming he licensed his fathers son but with a moral clause, which was violated when Jay Z used it in his song because he had altered the original–which is not what the license stated he could do.
Jay Z and his label argued they had obtained the right license and did nothing wrong. The legal battle has been going on for years and is still being fought in federal court.
