(EXCLUSIVE) DMX Hit With $244K Judgement Over Cancelled Concert Tour

that he hired other management that started booking him in America, which was a breach of the agreement he had with Heavy Rotation. Also, even after the $100K advancement the lien on his passport still wasn’t resolved so all the concerts the agency booked had to be cancelled as a result. They reportedly sued the rapper for $750k.

DMX-26

The lawsuit was put on hold after DMX filed for bankruptcy last year, but the bankruptcy case was dismissed because DMX failed to follow the rules of bankruptcy court and Heavy Rotation started up their legal battle once again following the bankruptcy case being dismissed.

Recently, things got even messier. According to court docs, Heavy Rotation claims since July of last year DMX and his team have failed to show up to court numerous times, pretended to not be served with court paperwork, blew off phone conferences scheduled by the court and have not filed a response to the lawsuit after several months. Heavy Rotion then asked for a default judgement against the rapper in the amount of $244,325.60

Then on May 16th … the judge in the case granted the concert promoter a default. According to the docs filed on December 2nd in a NY court, the judge in the case granted the default judgement in the amount of $244k against the rapper — noting that DMX failed to appear or object to the motion for default judgement and thus he was awarding the concert booking company the full amount they demanded. The case has now been closed.
