(EXCLUSIVE) Bobby Brown Demands $1.1 Million From Author Who Claimed He Was to Re-Marry Whitney Houston
Brown and his fiancee claimed all the statements were LIES and they claimed the magazine knew the statements were false before publishing.
Then the tabloid reportedly fired back at the lawsuit, in which they admit they never spoke to Brown about the information they published. However, they deny they did anything wrong and shot down Brown’s accusations they knew the information was false. Shortly after their response, the magazine and Brown reached a settlement with each other and the singer dismissed them from the legal battle.
However, Brown continued his lawsuit against the writer of the article Derrick Handspike. On January 13th, Brown filed docs in the case demanding the court serve the writer of the article with a default judgement. He explains that Handspike was served with the legal papers and has failed to respond to the allegations against him in court
Brown explains that he wants the court to order Handspike to pay the $1.18 million dollars for authoring the lies about him and Whitney Houston, stating that due to the article he lost $100K in contracts/offers alone. The other $1 million comes from damages that he claims have caused and will continue to cause Brown in the future due to the article being printed. The judge will make a decision on his motion in the near future. See the exclusive court docs.
