Reality TV Newbie Stacy Francis On Joining ‘R&B Divas LA’, Backlash & the Public’s Misconception [INTERVIEW]

Stacy Francis: I honor her and that’s it. I don’t address it. I think we need to let her rest in peace. I love her music and that’s it. I love her and that’s all.

theJasmineBRAND.com: Why is tonight’s event so important?

Stacy Francis: I think the most important thing about it is, you know of course we just recently lost Stuart Scott. We’ve lost so many people. Everybody that you meet…You can’t meet a lot of people, sadly today, that have not been affected by this disease. So I really feel like the only thing I can give back is my singing, is my talent. People say that when they hear me sing they feel moved and I feel like the spirit of God moves through me when I sing.

And if I can just take someone to a different place for a moment… cancer… someone who is suffering from cancer, or someone who lost a loved one to cancer, or whatever it is. If I can just take them to a higher place and have them a feeling… the spirit of God or whatever music is that does it for that person… if I can give that for a moment then to me, I’m doing my job as an artist while here on this planet. And so that’s why I wanted to do it because this is the way, it’s the only way that I know how to give back. And it’s my honor and my privilege to be able to do it this way.
