Solange Knowles Says Fashion Police Criticized Her Natural Hair + India Arie Doesn’t Believe Giuliana Rancic is Racist
The backlash surrounding Giuliana Racic’s comments about Zendaya’s faux locs continues.
Solange Knowles has chimed in, sharing on Twitter that she too has received similar comments about her hair, by Fashion Police and In Touch Weekly. She tweets:

India Arie, who has rocked natural hair for years, has penned a lengthy blog post, defending Zendaya. In the post, she admits that she doesn’t feel that Rancic is a racist, but does believe that this issue has everything to do with race.
I wanted to jump in and defend Zendaya – but she’s doing that BEAUTIFULLY herself.
VERY. WELL. DONE. It’s a powerful thing to be a TEENAGER in the public eye, and feel empowered to speak up in your own defense. STUNNING!In my opinion, Entitlement in and of itself, BLINDS people to that very entitlement … THUS allowing the behavior exhibited.
I’m not calling Giuliana Rancic a RACIST, .. but OF COURSE it has to do with RACE. To say it has “Nothing to do with race” .. THAT’S why people get mad.
