On Saturday (March 28th), Chris Brown’s ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran sat down with spiritual life coach Iyanla Vanzant for an OWN primetime television event. For the first time, in an emotional heart-to-heart, Karrueche shared her deeply personal story following her recent high-profile breakup with the singer.
Before the episode aired, Karrueche posted an Instagram message, stating that she owns up to her poor choices and recognizes her mistakes:
This evening the interview with Iyanla Vanzant and I will air. This is about recognizing my mistakes and learning from them. I own up to all the poor choices I have made and pray for the better. I pray everyday to God to strengthen me as a human and a young woman. I only ask that you at least understand me, whether you continue to like me or hate me. At the end of the day, we all have not been at our best at times so please learn from me and never forget to love yourself. ??
During the interview, set the record straight and spoke candidly with Iyanla about life in the spotlight, as well as her relationship with Chris and subsequent breakup.
Karrueche’s manager, Jacob York, reacted to the episode, stating that he wished the sit-down didn’t ONLY focus on her relationship with the singer. He tweeted:
