(EXCLUSIVE) Man Suing Jay Z Over ‘Big Pimpin’, Wants Rapper Sanctioned For 100K
theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports, Jay Z is accused of playing dirty games in the legal battle over “Big Pimpin”. The man suing the legendary rapper is demanding the court sanction him with a fine of 100k.
Jay Z has been battling a lawsuit over a sample he used in his hit song “Big Pimpin” since 2007. Osama Ahmed Fahmy – the heir to a 1960’s composer named Baligh Hamdy who created the musical composition ‘Khosara, Khosara” – filed suit claiming he licensed out his father’s song but with a moral clause. He says that clause was violated when Jay Z used it in his song because he had included it in a song that glorified things his father did not stand for in his life.
Jay Z and his label argued they had obtained the right license and did nothing wrong. The legal battle has been going on for years and is still being fought in federal court.
