Lil Wayne Announces Deal With Jay Z + August Alsina Disappointed in New Orleans [VIDEO]
Lil Wayne is joining his forces with Jay Z.
Over the weekend, the Young Money leader announced during his KMEL Summer Jam show:
I just signed a mutha-f*ckin’ deal with my idol Jay Z!
While the details remain vague, music lovers are full of speculation. We hear that it’s highly likely that Wayne will release his new music with Tidal — Jay’s new music streaming service. This news may be a bit odd, as Wayne’s protege, Drake, opted NOT to go with TIDAL, but with Apple music instead. Anywho, peep Wayne’s announcement, via Instagram.
**UPDATE**
Cortez Bryant, Lil Wayne’s manager spoke with Billboard to clear up the misunderstanding stating,
“The Internet and blogs took his words out of context,” Bryant tells Billboard. “When Wayne was speaking about the partnership with Jay Z, he was speaking about his new deal as an artist owner with Tidal.”
