This week, Nelly (real name Cornell Iral Haynes Jr.) took his talents to Power 105’s The Breakfast Club, fresh off another successful season of BET’s “Nellyville,” the rapper, actor and reality star dished on his very public relationship with girlfriend, Miss Jackson; playing his part as partial owner of the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets; whether he really has “beef” with Floyd Mayweather and the Drake vs. Meek fiasco. On his longevity in Hip-Hop:
I don’t think this generation is built for longevity…Everything is the now, the burn out, you know what saying, and it’s the go hard now, the go hard now! …GO HARD, GO HARD, TURN UP, TURN UP. Eventually, you gon’ have to turn down! That turn down is a Muth F*****”
The Drake vs. Meek rap beef:
I don’t know man, I think it was very very interesting for about two weeks, you know what I’m saying it was on fire for like two weeks! Look how fast that came and went at the peak of it. Now had that been the 90’s or the 80’s, that Tupac and Biggie sh** went on for like a year and a half, you know on a whole nother level. …I don’t think any fans of Meek are not going to continue to support Meek.
