‘Scandal’ Releases Season 5 Official Trailer [WATCH]

If you’re a fan of Scandal, you’re probably counting down the days until Shonda Rhimes’ political thriller starring Kerry Washington returns.

For those who need a quick #Gladiators history lesson, Washington’s character, Olivia Pope, is partially based on former George H.W. Bush administration press aide Judy Smith, who serves as a co-executive producer. The show takes place in Washington, D.C. and focuses on Olivia Pope’s crisis management firm, Olivia Pope & Associates (OPA), and its staff, as well as staff at the White House, which includes President Fitzgerald Grant III, Chief of Staff Cyrus Beene, and First Lady Mellie Grant.

To date, has received all sorts of accolades and recognition, having been named as Television Program of the Year by the American Film Institute and receiving the Peabody Award for Excellence in Television. Washington has been recognized with nominations from the Emmy Awards, Golden Globe Awards, Image Awards, and the Screen Actors Guild.

Anywho, this season kicks off September 24th at 9|8c on ABC.
