On Sunday (September 13th), Emmy Award-winning casting director and talent executive Robi Reed and The Reed For Hope Foundation(RFHF) hosted their end-of-summer event, “The 13th Annual “Sunshine Beyond Summer” (SBS) Celebration” – The Day Party With A Purpose.

The fundraiser took place at singer/actor Tyrese Gibson’s private residence. The annual event brought together a diverse group of entertainment industry tastemakers and community leaders.
The event was co-hosted by acclaimed actors Nia Long, Tasha Smith, Shaun Robinson, and Chris Spencer.

Guests enjoyed special musical performances by Marsha Ambrosius, Howard Hewitt and other surprise musical guests. DJ D-Nice provided the afternoon musical soundtrack.

Reed recognized honorees Steve and Lisa Vasquez of Cooking With Gabby with the 2015 Community Service Award. She also presented the 2015 Sunshine Award to the following entertainment industry honorees: AJ Johnson, Boris and Nicole Kodjoe, Brandee Evans, Daphne Wayans, Dolvett Quince, Dondre Whitfield, Salli Richardson Whitfield, Eva Marcille, Gwendolyn Smith, John Salley, Michael Blanks, and Wesley Jonathan. The award recipients were chosen for their work in promoting health care and awareness to the community.

In addition to musical performances, the event included a station/kiosk to have blood pressure checked, heart rate checked and take the hydration and healthy living pledge – this will make them “Certified Fit To Party.” Guests received VIP credentials for complimentary cocktails, gifting, access to special areas within the party and have their name pop-up on a big screen for public acknowledgment of their dedication to the cause.
