(EXCLUSIVE) Damon Dash Settles 3 Mill Legal Battle w/ Rapper Curren$y Over Failed Deal
Dash fired back claiming that he had every right to release the albums because he was given permission. He accused the rapper of stabbing him in the back by not signing the deal and going with Warner Brothers instead.
The legal battle had been going on for years. Dash had blown off the legal battle for several months and his lawyer dropped him as a client leaving him lawyer-less. The rapper filed docs demanding a default and the court granted his request.
Then on November 21st (of last year), Curren$y returned to court demanding he be granted a default judgement in the amount of $2.9 million in damages plus $95k in attorney fees. The rapper said Dash caused him to lose money from his music by releasing it on his own. He blasted Dash for blowing off the legal battle and saying that he had violated the court order by refusing to hire new lawyers to represent him and making the whole legal battle drag out even longer than it already had.
Then on October 2nd, docs were filed in the case stating the judge had been informed that Curren$y and Dash finally settled their year long + legal battle and had agreed to dismiss the nearly $3 million dollar case once and for all. The terms of the agreement are to remain confidential but the case was closed the same day.
