(EXCLUSIVE) French Montana Settles Legal Battle w/ Producer Who Accused Him of Stealing
He says that he handed over the track to the record label and French Montana. However, he said without making a deal or paying him for the music, they created a song with French’s rap over it and distributed it on his album, Excuse My French.
Moronta claimed they infringed on his copyrighted work and their conduct has destroyed his ability to sell or license his track to other artists, where he would have made a substantial amount of money. He sued French and the record label for unspecified damages.
Then on October 28th, docs were filed in the case stating the music producer and French Montana reached a settlement in the case.
The two parties explain the terms of the deal are confidential but per their agreement the case is dismissed and each will pay their own legal bills. The case was closed the same day.
