Actress Tasha Smith Marriage Annulled, Judge Rules Ex Was A Fraud
Tasha Smith is officially a single woman! The 44-year-old actress known for her role in ‘Why Did I Get Married’? and the Tyler Perry series For Better or Worse, is no longer married. This week, a judge ruled that her husband Keith [Rory] Douglas was a fraud and annulled the marriage, according to TMZ. The site reports:
Specifically, Tasha said during their courtship he told her he was a preacher and presented an image he was a man of faith. Tasha says the reality was way different … hubby Rory Douglas had been married 5 times before her. The judge said, “She in no way would have jumped within a few months at the chance to be bride number six.” What’s more, the judge said Douglas concealed the number of kids he actually had, his past criminal conduct, and failure to pay taxes for nearly a decade. The judge said the fraud went to the heart of her reasons for marrying Douglas, so now it’s like it never happened.
Smith and Douglas married in December 2010, after being in a relationship for one year. At the time, Smith was also her manager. In November 2014, Smith appeared in court to request a restraining order against Douglas, who in documents filed prior to the court appearance, she said accused her of having affairs with other women. Smith’s friend Tisha Campbell-Martin acted as a character witness.
