(EXCLUSIVE) Lil Wayne & Birdman Sued by Music Producer!
theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports, Lil Wayne & Birdman are back together — this time as defendants in a new lawsuit accusing them of screwing over a well-known music producer and the man is demanding they hand over all accounting for the songs he created for Wayne to determine how much the rappers owe him for his work .
The music company Nightrydas LLC and producer Maurice Jordan filed a federal lawsuit against Cash Money and Young Money Records accusing them of screwing them out of a huge amount in music royalties.
Jordan describes himself as an established music producer who composes, writes and arranges songs for artists. He is contracted with the production company to be his representation.
The producer has worked with everyone from Jay Z, Nicki Minaj, 2 Chainz, Rick Ross and many others.
Back in 2011, Nightrydas entered into a non-exclusive agreement with Young Money to provide Jordan and another producer they represent to produce the song “Nightmares of the Bottom” for Lil Wayne. Then the following year, Jordan was contracted again to produce a total of 15 songs for the rapper.
The production company says their producers finished all work due on the deal and they were to receive royalties for the tracks. However, they accuse Young Money of screwing them out of their royalties despite the records bringing in millions for Lil Wayne and crew.
Per the deal, the producers were to be paid a $15k advance and then receive up to 4% of the sales of the songs produced depending on how well the album sold.
The producer says he was paid partial payments but they ceased out of the blue and he only was paid a small portion of what he is owed.
Nightrydas filed suit against Young Money for breach of contract demanding full accounting on the music sales – to determine exactly how much he is owed – along with damages for being screwed out of money that is owed.
