Shonda Rhimes Dishes on Hillary Clinton’s ‘Scandal’ Set Visit

Just after presenting the Legend Award to Debbie Allen, TV powerhouse Shonda Rhimes chatted with “Extra’s” Tracey Edmonds exclusively backstage.

Shonda told Tracey all about Hillary Clinton’s special visit to the set of “Scandal” earlier this week. Rhimes, who publicly supported Clinton’s campaign, said,

She stopped by and hung out for a little. It was a conversation. Kerry (Washington) poked her head in and said, ‘Do you think it would be okay if Hillary stopped by?’ And I was like, ‘Of course it’s okay if Hillary stops by.’ We have a really great relationship and she’s a really wonderful person.

Rhimes went on,

It was really nice of her to relax for a moment off the campaign trail, and she sort of popped by and sat down and watched our fake Oval Office run and that was fun — it was fun for everybody on the set.

Cast members took to social media to post photos of the former first lady, senator, and Secretary of State, including Kerry Washington, Tony Goldwyn and Darby Stanchfield.
