TV One Acquires ‘Empire’ Series
Fans of the hit show, Empire, will now be able to watch older seasons on TV One. The network has snagged the exclusive cable rights to the series, according to Deadline. Reportedly, in May the network will air marathons of the second season leading up to second season finale. Episodes from both the first and second seasons of the series will begin airing on TV One on a weekly basis this summer.
Empire is a musical drama television series which debuted on Fox on January 7, 2015. Although filmed in Chicago, the show is based in New York and it centers on a hip hop music and entertainment company, Empire Entertainment, and the drama among the members of the founders’ family as they fight for control of the company. The show was created by Lee Daniels and Danny Strong, and stars Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson.
