Aretha Franklin Selected Lead Role For Her Biopic: I’m happy with her.
Aretha Franklin is arguably one of music’s biggest and best divas in the game. And after a plethora of years in the entertainment business, she’s ready to celebrate. As you know, the Queen of Soul recently celebrated her 74th birthday party at the Ritz Carlton in New York City. And during an interview at her bash, she tells People that fans are one step closer to seeing her biopic. She’s yet to identify who has snagged the lead but hints,
I’ve talked to the person that is going to play me. I’m not going to say who I chose, but I’ve talked to her and she’s ready and I’m happy with her.
In the interview, she also talks about her health and maintaining the reign as top diva. Peep a few excerpts.
On the new generation musical elite:
There’s a lot of great singers out here
On passing the diva torch:
I’m here…I’m not going anywhere. This is what I do.
On her health:
I’m doing very well. I’m going to be around. I’ll be like Perry Coma was somewhere on a couch laying down with a microphone, still singing.
On her birthday party:
It’s the culmination of a lot of work and I’m a little tired, but I’m still enjoying all of it. Every birthday is a gift. Every day is a gift.
