(UPDATED) Singer Monica Responds to Rumors of Husband’s Alleged Child

There’s more marital drama for singer Monica and her husband ex NBA player Shannon Brown. In May, the couple made headlines after reports surfaced that they were separating, due to rumors that Shannon had cheated. While the couple never spoke publicly about the allegations, they worked out their differences and remained married.

However, new claims are being reported. According to the Industry On Blast, a woman (named Tammy) is claiming that she had a child with Shannon. The woman in question has provided what she considers proof that she has a two-year-old daughter by the former athlete. Tammy has contacted Shannon on IG and has even reached out to members of Shannon’s family. Only time will tell if there’s any truth to this. Click here for the full story.

Monica and Shannon met in 2010, when she was looking for someone to play the love interest in her video for “Love All Over Me”. Monica later announced her engagement to Brown via her Twitter account, posting a photo of a rose-cut diamond ring. On November 22, 2010, the couple married in a secret ceremony at their Los Angeles home. The marriage, however, did not become a matter of public record until January 21, 2011. They had a second wedding ceremony for family and friends in July 2011. On September 3, 2013, Monica gave birth to their daughter, Laiyah Shannon Brown.

Monica addressed the rumor on Instagram writing,

The last several years stories were sold & told without any truth whatsoever, our aging grandmother was called and told my brother n law was in a wreck & near death, my families lines stalked, & so on, but honestly I’ve never discussed it because I feel as entertainers we are fair game to a cruel world and new age media but I want to apologize to the family of this beautiful baby that someone used in a deceitful sick game to hurt my family. Although we had nothing to do with it I’m truly sorry your daughter was used this way… My love for children runs DEEP & I feel they’re off limits, but this sick world clearly doesn’t feel the same..
