Adrienne Bailon & Fiance Israel Houghton Were Friends For 3 Years Before Dating + Deets On Their Engagement
Fresh off of her summer vacay, Adrienne Bailon is spilling the beans about her engagement to Israel Houghton. During a recent interview, The Real co-host shared just exactly how the couple’s European vacation ended up with her boyfriend popping the question.
Apparently, Adrienne thought that they returned to Paris, after traveling through Greece, to celebrate her parents anniversary:
I didn’t know there was some trickery going on… It was just honestly magical. My parents being there was so special to me. [My parents] were actually celebrating 20 years of marriage and I thought originally we were just celebrating them. Obviously when the surprise happened I was super excited, super happy.
Adrienne also discussed how their relationship began initially as a friendship.
We were friends for three years before [dating.] I think that makes a difference. We never thought we’d end up together. It was like, ‘Hey, what’s up? And we’d hang out with a bunch of friends and I would say ridiculous things out of my mouth that I probably wouldn’t say if I really liked him. And then he got to know the real me and I love that.
She added,
I think when you’re younger you have to date around to see what you like, what you don’t. There are different things from different people that I dated that I’m like, ‘I love this quality. I don’t love this quality so much.’
Congrats again to Adrienne and Israel.
