Tyrese Snags Recurring Role In “STAR”, Plays Queen Latifah’s Love Interest
Tyrese Snags Recurring Role In “STAR”
He’s booked. Tyrese Gibson has snagged a recurring role on Fox’s new series Star, created/executive produced by Lee Daniels and Tom Donaghy. Last week, we spotted him on set, filming.
Gibson will play Pastor Bobby Harris, a leader and confidant to many who presides over Carlotta’s (Queen Latifah) warm congregation. A handsome ex-thug, who has, like Carlotta, turned his life over to God. Carlotta and Pastor Harris begin a relationship that will be challenged on many fronts and which will ultimately create a crisis of faith for them both. Tyrese shared a photo of him on set.
Set in Atlanta, Star revolves around three talented young singers (Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny and Brittany O’Grady) who navigate the cut-throat music business on their road to success. The series, whose pilot was directed by Daniels, will feature original music, along with musical fantasy sequences, as the girls dream of their future.
Its cast includes Queen Latifah, Benjamin Bratt, Nicholas Gonzalez, Lenny Kravitz, Quincy and Naomi Campbell.
