“The Real” Ratings Up, Despite Tamar Braxton Departure
Numbers don’t lie and things are looking good for “The Real“. The Warner Bros. daytime talk show has picked up 13% to a new season high 0.9, tying with the show Crime Watch.
This news comes on the heels of their being much speculation on if the show would suffer, after terminating Tamar Braxton after least season.
Last month, the talk show was rumored to be facing cancellation in the wake of Braxton’s firing. The third season of The Real debuted on FOX this fall, making it the first to air without Braxton on the hosting panel.
At the time, ratings reportedly dropped significantly, with a 22 percent decrease in viewers compared to the Season 2 premiere in 2015. Broadcasting Cable suggested that The Real could potentially be in danger of cancellation unless ratings improve, revealing that the 22 percent decrease in ratings showed,
The largest declines of any talkers that haven’t already been canceled.
Meanwhile both the remaining co-hosts and the reality star/singer seemed to have moved on. This month, the show has secured a few celebrity guest co-hosts including: Eve, Ashanti, Monica and Angela Simmons.
Tamar’s new talk show, produced by Steve Harvey’s production company, is set to air in 2017.
