Troy Ave Reacts To Taxstone Arrest
Troy Ave Speaks Out After Taxstone’s Arrest
Rapper Troy Ave is speaking out about the recent arrest of popular NYC podcaster Daryl “Taxstone” Campbell. Troy Ave issued a statement through his lawyer (John B. Stella) via Bossip, maintaining that he was not responsible for shooting and killing his bodyguard and friend, Ronald McPhatter. He stated,
I view the charges brought today before the SDNY as a positive step in the direction of true justice for what occurred at Irving Plaza that night. As we have said since May 26, 2016, Roland Collins (Troy Ave) did not enter Irving Plaza with a handgun the night of the TI concert. He was not responsible for the four shots fired inside the Green Room that took the life of his dear friend (Ronald) McPhatter, and caused injury to him and two other innocent bystanders.
As previously reported, a judge denied Taxstone’s $500,000 bail bond. Initially, he was to be released on $500,000 bond and house arrest. However, prosecutors convinced the Judge to keep him in jail, noting that he posed a danger to the community and a witness testimony would “directly show” he fired, at a minimum, the shot that killed McPhatter.
