Queen Latifah To Receive Icon Award At American Black Film Festival Honors
Queen Latifah will receive the Entertainment Icon award at the upcoming American Black Film Festival Honors. The ceremony takes place Friday, in Los Angeles.
Actor and director Denzel Washington will receive the “Hollywood Legacy Award;” writer, producer and actress Issa Rae with the “Rising Star Award,” and film director and producer F. Gary Gray will also take home the “Excellence in the Arts Award”.
ABFF Honors’ mission is to celebrate Black culture by honoring individuals, movies and television shows that have had a significant impact on American entertainment, as well as the people who are proponents of championing diversity and inclusion in Hollywood. The annual event will be hosted by actress Regina Hall.
The American Black Film Festival Honors will air on BET and Centric at 8 p.m. EST on Feb. 22. Other honorees include Terrence Howard.
