Sheryl Underwood Negotiated With Her Rapist: I refused to die that day.
The Talk host and comedian, Sheryl Underwood, recently opened up about her experience negotiating with her rapist. On Monday’s episode, Underwood and her co-hosts discussed Kim Kardashian’s experience of being robbed in Paris and her “this is it moment.” On Sunday’s episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kim explained to her family that she was thinking ‘This is it, I’m going to be raped,’ during the ordeal. Underwood expressed having that same moment.
While being raped, Underwood said,
I just kept thinking, this ain’t it. I’m not going to die today. I refuse to die today. It’s not going down like this.
She continues,
I start talking to the guy and I said ‘Don’t do this this way. Whatever you’re going to do, finish what you’re doing. Don’t kill me, don’t take my ID they’ll find you.’
After sharing her story, Underwood offered some advice with other women saying,
I really want women to understand don’t ever let anybody take your power away from you.
